PLEASE CONTACT THE SURGERY TO BOOK YOUR FLU JAB IF YOU ARE IN ANY OF THE GROUPS BELOW:
Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Liver Disease, Kidney Disease, Over 65, Heart Disease, Are Pregnant or have a Suppressed Inmmune System
The practice operates a ‘mixed economy’ of booked and open surgeries, enabling greater access for patients.
Morning surgeries are open access from 8.45 - 10.30 am but all afternoon surgeries, nursing and clinic consultations are by appointment only.
We request that whenever possible, patients arrive at least 15 minutes before the close of open surgery.
HOWEVER PLEASE NOTE: If you arrive at morning open surgery after 10.00am then you may not be able to see the doctor of your choice; you will be allocated a doctor by the receptionist
Patients are able to access a receptionist at the practice via the telephone during the hours of 8.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday and are able to speak to a GP or nurse on the telephone between the hours stated in the table below. If a GP or nurse is unavailable to speak to you immediately, a message will be taken and you will be contacted by a GP or nurse as soon as they become available.
If you make an appointment with a clinician at the practice and find you are unable to keep the appointment, we request that you contact the surgery as soon as possible to cancel and re-arrange your appointment if necessary.
We are guided by established NHS criteria for determining when home visits are necessary. These criteria state that: ‘a practice will provide at the home of a registered or a non-registered patient in its practice area such services as the practice is contracted to provide during hours which do not fall in the out-of-hours period when, in light of the patient’s medical condition, the doctor considers that such services are needed and would most appropriately be delivered by means of a home visit.
When requesting a home visit, may we ask all patients to telephone 01792 390413 before 10.30am.
We offer a more effective service if patients are able to attend the surgery where the patient’s medical records are held, and where equipment and conditions enable a more thorough assessment.
In most cases we will not accept a lack of transport as a reason for a home visit.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
Both surgeries in Scurlage and Pennard have disabled access.
